if i unknowingly purchased a stolen vehicle from individual what are my rights to protect me?

did not know vehicle was stolen until pulled over by law. they impounded vehicle took title an insurance and key released me. but now have warrant for my arrest for car theft. cant find person i bought from. have witness she did in fact deliver truck to me. ran vin on public data didnt come up stolen. she lead me to believe owner of truck her boyfriend signed rights to her to sell truck to get attorney to get him out of jail. knowing both of them an knowing he is in jail an knowing them as couple had no reason to doubt what she told me.need to prove innocence.

Okay, about 3 years ago my husband and I voluntarily surrendered our vehicle. Now we are looking at bankruptcy. We haven’t received a judgment against us for the vehicle as of yet. However I pulled my hubby’s credit report for the bankruptcy and saw that the auto account had been sent to an attorney. IF the attorney for the auto gets a judgment against us, can this be discharged in a bankruptcy?
